DA is actually a concept developed by Moz to help measure the authority of sites. While authority does play a role in Google ranking, DA is not a ranking factor. Instead, it’s a way to make informed predictions.
As we said above, DA is measured from 1 to 100.
Moz states that it’s calculated by “evaluating multiple factors, including linking root domains and the total number of links, into a single DA score. This score can then be used when comparing websites or tracking the ‘ranking strength’ of a website over time.”
DA and ranking are constantly fluctuating, so it’s a good idea to use a tool like this to track how your site is doing.
Factors That Influence Domain Authority
There are several ways to influence your site’s domain authority. Your first step should be to start tracking DA, then working on ways to drive your number up.
Keep in mind there are many factors at play in the Google algorithm. All of those factors need to be considered when measuring the overall strength of your site.
